Stuffed banana
Stuffed banana or pazham nirachathu is a most wanted and easily available snack in Malabar area for example, If you have tea from any restaurant in Thalassery and when you ask what snack is available, the stuffed banana or pazham nirachath would be the first in the list of snacks. It is simple to make yet yummy.
Kids will love this snack so, it is easy for moms to make kids eat bananas. Like all other Malabar snacks, the ingredients are commonly available or even always in stock at home. Banana and ghee are one of the yummiest combinations and when it is stuffed with coconut, raisins and nuts enhances the taste to its peak.
Charcol banana
Bananas are also yummy when it is being grilled in charcoal. Then after peeling the banana add ghee and some sugar on top. This is how I used to have bananas when I was a child. My mother has less difficulty making me eat bananas if it was prepared like that.
Similarity with Unnakaya
The stuffed banana recipe is same as the unnakaya recipe. Ingredients are the same but preparation is a little different. Another difference between these two recipes is that for unnakaya, semi-ripe bananas are the best and for a stuffed banana, the perfectly ripe banana makes the snack extra tasty.
Bananas are rich in fibre, minerals and nutrients so it has many health benefits. One among them is, it has the ability to smoothen your digestive system and ensure proper digestion.
